Company History

Coursey Properties, Inc. was founded in 2007 and based upon business principles and ethics of Atlanta-based institutions owned by the Coursey family dating back to the late 1700s. The Coursey family obtained a land grant in the north Georgia woodlands circa 1790 a few miles west of what fifty years later would become the City of Atlanta. They were initially farmers, builders, and land brokers. Attached are some of the original handwritten deeds dating back to the 1820s attesting to some of their purchases and sales of property throughout the north Georgia area.

The Coursey Family has continually been instrumental in changing the skyline of Atlanta. In 1939, Andrew J. Coursey started a plant nursery on West Lake Avenue in the Grove Park community and relocated it to the Red Oak community in 1953. In 1983, Coursey Landscaping spawned from the nursery as a commercial landscape vehicle by Monty and Chuck Coursey. In 1970, Gary B. Coursey created Coursey Architects. An architectural firm specializing in the design of multi-family and student housing, office spaces, and retail developments.

Coursey Properties, Inc was established in 2007 with a mission to provide real estate consultation, site location services, procurement, and contract negotiations for the purchase of commercial real estate clients.

Testimonials

We appreciate your assistance in the location and purchase of two land parcels at 920 & 940 Virginia Avenue for Apsilon Hotels. You were instrumental in our plan to build a hotel that is adjacent to the Delta Airlines Headquarters. The purchase of the 920 Virginia Avenue property from the Atlanta International Airport and dealing with the real estate department of the City of Atlanta was especially challenging but your persistence and determination paid off. We believe we will have the best hotel site at the Atlanta Airport upon completion. We look forward to working with you and your staff on future real estate purchases as our presence in the Atlanta Airport area expands.

On behalf of the Board, faculty, staff and students of Hapeville Charter School, I would like to express my appreciation for your assistance, patience, guidance and support through the process of our recent purchase of property for the Union City Campus of the Hapeville Charter Career Academy. Both of you were readily available for me throughout the land search and purchase course of action in what could have been a stressful and difficult event. From the initial searching for available properties, to the preparation for the final closing, you were great to work with.
